I'm an aerospace engineer so I'm biased but my non aerospace friends say that this is the best Smithsonian (better than the natural history museum). I definitely agree. Seeing the selection was awesome. It is still under renovation so half of the museum is closed. Would definitely go back when it is fully open. I just have to do the museum in VA
This museum is just stunning. Sadly only half of it was open. The museum was extremely interactive.
Weather your exploring the space capsules from the 20th century, taking photos of military jets, and feeling the vibration from a 1950s airliner the museum has something fun to offer for everyone. Seeing the cockpit of the 747 and all the planes on the wall made my jaw certainly drop. I loved seeing all of the planes from the early 1900s and seeing how we got to the modern aviation we have today.
Great experience for everyone.
This museum is one of the best I’ve been to. There is so much history and detail in the air and space industry, but the museum does a great job of capturing a ton of it. The planes on display are a stunning work of building masterpiece. My grandfather flew the DC-3 hanging up front and center, so it was really cool to see in person and quite inspiring.
Love this museum! It's currently under construction but theres still so much to see and do. The Mars Cafe is pretty good for a quick bite to eat. Loved the planetarium show! Very clean facilities and good system for getting in in an orderly fashion. Tons of food trucks out front incase you don't want to eat at the Cafe, seating is limited in there.
