Beautiful art filled palace. Every room was more beautiful than the other one. A must visit when in Florence. It took us about 2 hours to finish the entire palace. It has nice exhibits and a nice gift shop that’s filled with nice stuff. Must visit to see the rest of the amazing art and painted ceilings, 9.99/10.
Beautiful palace with lots of paintings.
It took us about 2 hours to visit, albeit not as big or impressive as the Uffizi it’s a worthwhile visit, especially considering that it’s much less crowded so you’ll be able to enjoy it more.
During my visit to Italy in 2006, I had the immense pleasure of exploring the captivating Pitti Palace, a true gem in the heart of Florence. This majestic palace, with its grand architecture, opulent interiors, and extensive art collections, transported me to a bygone era of Renaissance magnificence. From its stunning gardens to its rich historical significance, Pitti Palace left an indelible impression on my journey through Italy.
The grandeur of Pitti Palace is immediately evident upon arrival. Its imposing façade, adorned with ornate details and regal statues, commands attention and sets the stage for the architectural splendor that lies within. As I entered the palace, I was transported to a world of elegance and refinement, where the opulence of the past merges seamlessly with the artistic treasures it houses.
The palace's vast art collections are a testament to the patronage and discerning taste of its former residents, including the Medici family. The Pitti Palace hosts several museums, each offering a unique and captivating journey through art history. From the Galleria Palatina, with its remarkable collection of Renaissance paintings, to the Royal Apartments, adorned with sumptuous furnishings and exquisite decorations, every corner of the palace is a treasure trove of artistic riches.
One of the highlights of my visit was exploring the Palatine Gallery, where I was captivated by the works of renowned Italian masters such as Raphael, Titian, and Caravaggio. The intricate details, vibrant colors, and masterful brushstrokes showcased the artistic brilliance of these painters, evoking a sense of wonder and admiration. It was a privilege to witness firsthand the legacy of these artistic geniuses in such a remarkable setting.
Due to the limited time (we visited Uffizi Gallery in the morning), our choice for Pitti Palace was to walk the garden only. There was a charming time spent here. The garden is lovely, and we found a spectacular view of Florence city center with the Dome and towers enshined by the sunset. We visited it just two hours before closing, and thus, not many people were around.
