What this place offers
What visitors are saying
If you like to visit historial and religious places this is a must to visit in Barcelona, Spain.
The architecture, mural glasses and sculptures are unique and beautiful.
Make sure to buy tickets online prior to your visit as you might not be able to find any space available when going there.
Make sure to seat on the bench and admire all around, I wish people respect the signs to be respectful and whisper but sometimes people don’t care about others and feel like a social club.
The sculptures at the entrance are beautiful and amazing to see the perfection on it and what they represent.
This is a beautiful place and again a must to visit while in Barcelona.
Cathedral is stunning both from the outside and inside and it is very different from the other cathedrals I've seen so far. The sun hitting stained glass windows made a beautiful scene.
On the other hand, tower visit (we chose Nativity tower) was very underwhelming, especially for the total price of 36€, so I don't recommend it unless you are curious. The view is very limited and you have a view of the one side only. I gave 4/5 stars because of the tower.
Nevertheless I recommend paying for the visit (maybe without tower) and make sure to buy tickets online in advance
3 visits to Barcelona and all 3 visited this wonderful church. Tips that stand out:
*Early reservation/ticket is a must. 9-9:30am. When we left at 11am it was insane outside. Early morning is the only way to truly absorb this place and take it in.
*Make sure you go to the lower floor Museum. Fantastic historical facts and things to look at in a modern easy to understand and appreciate way.
*If you only purchase General Admission and go to the lower floor Museum you do not even need the audio guide if that is not your thing (we do not prefer group tours or audio guides but like to soak in historical buildings like this and then get some facts)
*Go early but even a few minutes earlier and on the ticket entrance side there is a small pond. The money photo shot is over there at the far side of the pond. The other side is a great photo also and early morning you can walk into the white dirt park alongside and get a good photo also.
Unbelievably beautiful place! Literally the most incredible cathedral in the world even though it isn't finished! Easy to navigate around. Tours in English if you need it. Not too expensive to get in and obviously very easy to find because it's huge !
