So huge, and wonderfully designed. The most famous pieces are scattered around which I think works well for the museum, as in places like the Louvre there isn't much done to prevent bottlenecking, whilst here I was able to see well known paintings easily without overcrowding, so I was able to enjoy them too! The spaces are very light and open.

The exhibition on St Francis was very interesting, too. Like many museums in the UK the admission is free, and it would certainly be worth a visit even if it wasn't!

Favourite gallery I’ve been to !

They have a selection of great paintings. It was truly amazing and impressive. It is well organised, so it’s easy to navigate and make sure you didn’t miss anything.

The building itself is also beautiful especially on the inside.

There isn’t much waiting time. But it’s better to book in advance.

Also great tote bags at the museum shop !

Another must see for art lovers. Lots to see here. I could have spent all day! Get a map and follow the flow of the exhibits - easy to navigate and takes you through all the relevant periods you may want to see, or skip ahead to what interests you.

Great selection of heavy hitters like Van Gogh, Monet, Manet, etc., but also a mix of tons of others you won’t want to miss.

All of this for free? UK doing something right when it comes to art.

Free entry but highly recommended that you book a time in advance. There were very long lineups midday on a weekday and had we not had timed tickets, we would have easily been waiting 10-30 mins.

Breathtaking variety of art from the 1300s to 1800s. Lots of famous artists such as Picasso, Monet, Renoir and DaVinci.

We spent several hours here admiring the art and the special exhibit on St Francis of Assisi
